A Kenai project can have multiple members collaborating on a project. If the chat room for a Kenai project is enabled and you are logged in, you can exchange messages in the project's chat room from within the IDE. You can also engage in private chats with members.
To participate in chat sessions you must be logged in to Kenai and logged in to the chat server. The option to log in for chats is available in the Kenai login dialog. To log in to Chat when you log in to Kenai, perform the following steps.
Note.
When you are logged in for chatting,
the IDE displays the Online icon ( )
and the number of online members in the status bar.
The names of the online members are displayed in a tooltip when you mouse over the
chat icon in the status bar.
The IDE also displays the Message icon ( ) in the status bar and
the total number of project chat rooms with unread chat messages.
You can click the number to display a list of the chat rooms with unread messages and open the Chat window.
When you log out of Kenai you also automatically log out of Chat. If you want to log out of Chat but do not want to log out of Kenai, perform the following step.
